The Cableway takes you to the summit in five minutes and the cable car's rotating floor ensures that all passengers get a 360 degree aerial view of the city. Carefully laid out paths & walking routes enable you to experience the thrill of Cape Town.

Day 2 - Option 1

Steenberg is the venue for today's round. The course was designed and built by one of South Africa's leading golf course architects, Peter Matkovich. The golf course has been designed to take full advantage of natural features and hazards. The design of the central clubhouse is harmonious with the historic architecture of the estate. The course was designed and built by one of South Africa's leading golf course architects, Peter Matkovich. The 18 hole championship golf course meanders leisurely through the Steenberg vineyards, pine forests and gentle waterways. The course features four distinct areas: Wetlands, Parklands, The Cape Flats and Fynbos. With five different tees, the course can be enjoyed by all, from championship to junior level. Many golfers envy the superb condition of this soft spike course and it is widely renowned for having the best greens in Cape Town. There are also a number of practice areas, including a driving range, chipping area with sand traps and a large putting green.

After golf why not continue your exploration of the Cape Peninsula. Perhaps a drive to Cape Point, where the Atlantic & Indian Oceans are reputed to meet. Don't forget a stop at Boulders to experience the Penguins colonies. Dinner could be at one of the many top class Waterfront restaurants.

Day 3 - Option 1

With lovely views of Table Mountain from most holes, the Royal Cape Golf Club offers a beautiful setting that will make your second round truly memorable. Royal Cape Golf Club is a true championship course having hosted the South African Open no less than ten times and the SA Amateur Championships eight times. The most recent SA Open held here was in 1996 and was won by Ernie Els. Extensive work was done on the greens in 2000 to bring them up to the USGA standards and the course today is a fine test of golf and worthy of its championship rating. Essentially it is a very flat parkland course, well maintained and a pleasure to play with lovely views of the surrounding mountains. But don't be deceived by its apparent easiness. The fairways are narrow, demanding extreme accuracy off the tee, wayward shots can be heavily penalized amongst the trees and the greens are well bunkered. There is also plenty of water on the course. The most difficult holes are the par-4 3rd, at 435m the longest two-shotter on the course, and the par-4 14th, a dog-leg right played into the teeth of the prevailing south-easter and with water guarding the right front and side of the green.

Day 4 - Option 1

Your third round today is at Clovelly Golf Course. Nestled in the pristine and tranquil Silvermine Valley close to Fish Hoek. It has always been one of the most popular and visited courses in the Western Cape. Clovelly was designed by Dr Charles Molteno Murray, one of the best known golf architects of his day, and he sure made it challenging. Famous for its rolling fairways and undulating holes, Clovelly complements its rich coastal environment. There are natural sand dunes as well as water features and a wide variety of indigenous fauna - especially bird life such as guinea fowl, pheasant, peacock and steppe buzzard - and flora, notably the variety of trees which line the fairways. Clovelly has championship-quality greens and tight fairways by South African standards. There are a fine number of testing holes, with the Silvermine River, and adjacent ponds adding much to the character. Clovelly - like fine Cape wines - improves steadily with age, and its vintage and quality is well established throughout South Africa, and indeed, beyond our shores. This reputation is founded on the warmth of Clovelly's "family" character & its outstanding facilities.

Day 5 - Option 1

Today it's Atlantic Beach. Enjoy our Championship Links style Golf Course with its traditional style and an ocean breeze off the ocean. On calm days you can play your normal lofted shot or on windy days you can use the firm turf to play low running shots, beneath the wind. Either way, we are sure you will enjoy the challenge around this 18 hole course. Atlantic Beach Links Golf Courses have been built with a serious commitment to the preservation of the indigenous fauna and flora. Compared to other golf courses in Cape Town, on completion of your 18 holes around our course you will agree that it is the combination of good golf in unsurpassed natural surroundings that make Atlantic Beach Links Golf Course a unique golfing experience.

Day 6 - Option 1

Check out of your hotel. Depending on your flight times, you will need to make your way to Cape Town International Airport and return your rental car. Check in for your onward flight to Durban. On arrival at Durban International Airport, you will be met and assisted with your rental car. The representative will give you maps and directions to your hotel. Tonight you will stay at the Zimbali Coastal Resort, a breathtaking 700-hectare Coastal Resort situated on a pristine stretch of KwaZulu-Natal's Dolphin Coast.

It is a place of expansive beauty, endowed with lush vegetation and an abundance of indigenous wildlife. Appropriately, its Zulu name means 'valley of flowers'. Featuring inspired architecture that displays an Indonesian influence, the majestic estate offers residents and guests an exceptional quality of life within a pristine natural environment. Located 28 miles north of Durban and within close proximity to all modern amenities, Zimbali is perfectly positioned to experience the unmatched magnificence of the KwaZulu-Natal province.

Day 7 - Option 1

The coastal area of Natal, as well as being home to the exclusive Zimbali Country Club, is home to some of the best golf courses in South Africa. Today you will pit your golfing wits against the Tom Weiskopf designed Zimbali Golf course. Tom - former British & South African Open Golf Champion - has designed a golf course which will challenge players of all handicaps in the most delightful surroundings. Tom has this to say about Zimbali: "The character of the property is one that I'd describe as having an abundance of natural features which include constant changes in elevation, a combination of mature indigenous trees and vegetation and some beautiful wetland areas with natural steams and ponds, all creating a dramatic and beautiful setting."

This afternoon can be spent at the health and beauty spa, playing tennis or relaxing at the pool.

Day 8 - Option 1

Since opening in 1994 the Prince's Grant golf course has flourished just as the design team intended. With large greens and impressive fairways, it creates a completely unique and challenging experience for any golfer. The course is a links / parklands layout, designed and constructed by Peter Matkovich.

Following golf, the rest of the afternoon could be spent at the Prince's Grant Lodge with a walk on the secluded beach, canoeing on their private lagoon or some shopping along the Dolphin Coast.

Day 9 - Option 1

Today you play the top course in the area, The Durban Country Club. The Durban Country Club came into existence on 9th December 1922. The decision to build it grew largely from the misfortunes of the Royal Durban, South Africa's oldest club which was host to the 1919 national golf championships: the course became so waterlogged that the winner took 320 squelching strokes to finish. There was no guarantee that the low lying course would not flood again and so Durban was in danger of losing its place on the national tournament circuit. The re-designed course opened in 1922 and two years later Durban Country Club staged the first of many South African Opens. Much of the history of the game in South Africa has been enacted here, and most of the great players have made their pilgrimage to it. Sid Brews, Bobby Locke and Gary Player have has some of their greatest moments at the Country Club. The course saw Gary Player's first South African Open success in 1956 with 286. He returned in 1969 (having won the title another five times in the interim) to score a 273, which included a then record round of 64. In 1998 Ernie Els won his third South African Open at the club, opening with a 64 that left him in a position of dominance that he was not to relinquish.

The course, overlooking the Blue Lagoon estuary and the Indian Ocean has hosted 16 SA Opens in total, more than any other club in South Africa. Overlooking the course is the classic Cape Dutch style Club House, its timeless grace making the name Durban Country Club synonymous with relaxed elegance. Over the years, the Club has played host to celebrities, royalty and golfing greats. Photos, antiques and memorabilia in the club house bear testimony to its fine traditions

Day 10 - Option 1

Check out of the Zimbali Lodge and Country Club. You will need to make your way to Durban International Airport and return your rental car in time for your flight home

Day 1 - Option 2

Arrive at Cape Town International Airport where you will be met by a representative of Pinnacle Golf Tours. Collect your hire car and we will escort you to a magnificent Wine Estate Hotel where you will be staying for the next 5 nights. The details of your tour will all be carefully explained to you. You will receive all vouchers, tee times, directions plus three very important items. Firstly you will receive a mobile sat-nav unit for use in your hire car. It will be provided, together with a comprehensive list of the GPS co-ordinates for each of the golf courses, hotels, places of interest etc that you will visit during your holidaySecondly, you will receive an in-car audio guide to make your visit even more enjoyable & informative. Places of interest will be pointed out and their fascinating history explained. Thirdly, you will receive a local cellphone with the number of Pinnacle Golf Tours already programmed in. Remember we are on call to help you 24 hours a day. Optional, perhaps a short trip into Stellenbosch to explore this beautiful university town.

Day 2 - Option 2

Today you will play the magnificent Pearl Valley course. Spanning some 212 hectares of prime Cape Winelands real estate, Pearl Valley Golf Estates is a magnificent 18-hole Jack Nicklaus signature golf course. His unique touch is evident at Pearl Valley Golf Estates. This golf legend sees the Pearl Valley course as the sum of his knowledge and his experience. This spectacular course provides one of the top golf experiences in South Africa - and one of the best in the world. Pearl Valley Golf Estates was recently rated the '5th Best Golf Course in South Africa,' by Golf Digest and received a '5 Star Golf Experience,' by Compleat Golfer. To meet the 'Golden Bear's' uncompromising standards of golf course design and aesthetic beauty, a combination of the intense colours of the greens and fairways, together with the brilliant white river sand lining the bunkers was carefully planned, to make Pearl Valley Golf Estates the most visually spectacular golf course in the country. Bunkers on Nicklaus' signature courses are renowned for being shallow, long and relatively undaunting. Every hole is played against the spectacular backdrop of the mountains surrounding the estate and all are challenging due to the bunkers and fast greens. The course has been designed with the area's prevailing winds in mind; the winter northwesterly and the summer southeasterly. All par 3s and par 5s play in different directions, ensuring that the same conditions are not experienced too many times in one round. The 4th is the 'Signature' hole and one of the most scenic of par 3s.

After your golf, why not visit one of the wine farms in the Paarl region, possibly the Nederburg Estate. We will gladly recommend the best options.

Day 3 - Option 2

Your golf today is at the De Zalze Club, co-designed & managed by Spier, so you only have a short drive to the club. Designed by Peter Matkovich, who has made the most of the stunning setting and created a course that places a premium on accuracy. The course has an excellent mix of parkland holes with its main defences coming from the water features on several of the holes as well as the oak tree lined Blaauwklippen River which winds its way through the golf estate and comes into play at various intervals. The golf course, open since 2000 with the brand new Cape styled thatch clubhouse [opened December 2003] is an exciting addition to the group of international standard championship golf courses recently built in the Western Cape region of South Africa. The De Zalze Golf Course has already hosted a number of championship events and will together with the Spier resort be the host venue for the 2006 World Amateur Team Championships, attracting teams from approximately 80 countries around the globe. This Golf Estate has proven to be one of the most sought after golf estate real estate investments in South Africa, having achieved record sales since 2002.

After golf, perhaps visit the enchanting village of Franschhoek, founded in 1688 by French Huguenots. It is a scenic gem, renowned for its spectacular beauty, superb Cape Wines & world class restaurants. The locals believe their special valley of Franschhoek is one of the most beautiful in South Africa, possibly even the world. We invite you to come and see and experience it for yourself. Why not stay for dinner at the town's top eatery, Le Quartier Français. Tucked away in secluded gardens it offers a delightful haven of peace and tranquility. A total gastronomic experience can be enjoyed here. Bistro lunches on the terrace and award-winning cutting edge cuisine by Margot Janse and her team in the Tasting Room. Acknowledging its outstanding reputation, The Tasting Room has been voted "The Worlds 50 Best Restaurants 2005, 2006, 2007 - Restaurant Magazine UK | Top 100 Hotels - Travel and Leisure 2007. Booking is essential. Let us know if you want to experience this outstanding restaurant.

Day 4 - Option 2

Another leisurely breakfast followed by the beautiful scenic coastal drive to Hermanus. If you are holidaying from May to November, you may be lucky enough to see Hermanus' most famous visitors, the Southern Right Whale. These magnificent creatures come here to breed. We then take the short drive to the magnificent Arabella Golf Estate, to play your third round. Voted by Compleat Golfer magazine as the top golf course in the Cape Province, it is also featured in Golf Digest's USA's Top 60 courses outside of America in 2007. It is a classic parkland course having spectacular views across the Bot River lagoon and across the Kogelberg mountain range. Awarded Five-Star Golf Experience for the first time in 2002, the course is complemented by a luxurious clubhouse with bar and halfway house, as well as a fully stocked pro shop and excellent practice area. The Arabella Golf Club has been the annual home to the Nelson Mandela Invitational charity golf tournament from 2003, hosting the likes of Jack Nicklaus, Samuel L Jackson, Ronan Keating, Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Tim Clark, Lee Westwood and Sam Torrance. These and other top names have made a valuable contribution to Gary Player's initiative to raise funds for the Nelson Mandela Children's Foundation and the Player Foundation. There is no doubt that a round of golf here ranks with the best experiences anywhere in the world.

After the golf, relax in the luxury of the clubhouse or perhaps explore the fascinating harbour town of Hermanus.

Day 5 - Option 2

Today you experience your fourth round of golf at the famous Erinvale course. This beautiful Gary Player designed championship course, host of the 1996 World Cup of Golf & currently home of the SAA Open will enchant you. Situated at the foot of the Helderberg Mountains with magnificent mountain views & a panoramic vista over False Bay.

Following golf, possibly relax on the beach at nearby Gordons Bay, or take a slow drive back to Stellenbosch, where tonight you could have an incredible African experience at Moyo, in the grounds of the Spier Estate. Dining under the starlit African sky, Moyo is unlike any other restaurant. Bedouin tents and Gazebos are placed throughout the garden and create an almost nomad African Village. Watching over this Moyo Village is a 300 year old Oak Tree, a testament to Africa's greatness. Growing from the earth, pulsating water features crafted from copper are living works of art and skillfully constructed tree houses raise from the ground and take to the tree tops - an unparalleled dining experience. The buffet span is an incredible 25 metres. The flavor of freshly cooked potjies, tagines and grilled meats fills the air with aromas of cumin, paprika and rosemary. African musicians complete the scene. A magical evening.
